Sage Hills School

"Where students can experience the joy of learning and the fun of friendship in a classroom where Jesus is at the center."

We believe that learning should be fun and hands-on, and much of our learning time happens through daily center activities and play. We incorporate bible, language arts, phonics, math, social studies, science, crafts, and songs into our class times that are age-appropriate and designed to best serve the needs of each individual student. We encourage students to explore, engage with, and ask questions about the world around them to get to know their Creator and the world that He made! Our main goal for our students is that they would develop a love for learning and an understanding that God loves them and made them with purpose.
  • Be encouraged as you see your child develop small and large motor skills through a wide variety of activities.
  • Be expectant to see the unique way your child is created, developing a drive that encourages learning and creativity.
  • Be inspired by your child’s curiosity and God’s own desires in their hearts that drive them to become world changers.
  • Be relaxed as we love your child in a way that gives them the security they need to be prepared for any learning environment.

One of my favorite things about working with children is sharing in their joy and wonder as they learn new things! I am passionate about facilitating learning through play and exploration and creating a classroom environment where children know they are loved by God and made with a purpose! I grew up on the Big Island of Hawaii and moved to Washington in 2014 to attend college at Seattle Pacific University, where I studied K-8th Education. Since then, I have worked in the education field with students from preschool all the way to 8th grade. I am married to my wonderful husband, Michael, and we are excited to welcome our baby girl this winter. I love horseback riding, stand-up paddle boarding, skiing, and reading in my free time.

I’ve always known since a very young age that I was meant to work with children.  To be a vessel for God to help children understand they are important and loved.  I am born and raised in the Wenatchee Valley. I have spent a majority of the last 14 years running an in-home daycare and homeschooling my children.  I am a wife to Josh and a mother to 3 wonderful daughters.  You can always find me outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking or just spending time with my family

Julee Christensen

The calling and passion the Lord has laid on my heart is teaching and loving on kiddos. I have a BA in Elementary Ed and taught Kindergarten at Washington Elementary before staying home to raise our kids and homeschool. I have taught in some capacity for about 20 years because I love it so much! One of my favorite things is seeing children's excitement and joy as they discover the world around them. They learn best through play, and I incorporate that into how we learn in the classroom. I will love and encourage each kiddo as I strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus.  I am wife to Dustin and mom to four adult kids.
Fun fact: All of our kids are adopted, and three out of four through foster care.

Patti Zahnow

I have lived in Wenatchee for four and a half years but have lived in Washington for a total of 39 years. I knew from a young age that my passion would be working with children. I have spent my whole life babysitting, working in the nursery at church, teaching Sunday school, raising my kids, and running an in-home daycare for over six years. I love to watch them learn and grow and see their excitement as they learn new things. My hope is to create an environment where they feel safe and loved and look forward to coming to class to learn new things and make new friends. My prayer is that they will learn to love, follow, and share Jesus with others as they grow.
I am a wife to David and was blessed to be a stay-at-home mom to four amazing kids who are now grown and have blessed me and my husband with five beautiful granddaughters and a grandson due in September. I always love spending time with family and enjoying doing things outdoors like bike riding and hiking.

Danyell Szot

I was born and raised in Salem, OR. I attended SPU, where I earned my BSN. I worked as an RN at the clinic until our youngest was born, then became a stay-at-home mom. I am a wife to Nick and a mother to 3 beautiful children (Quinn - 9., Bennett - 7, and Blane - 5). All 3 of my kids have attended Sage Hills School, and we have absolutely loved it, so when I was presented with the opportunity to work at the school, I couldn't turn it down. It is so special to be entrusted with your child and to get to love on them and help create a fun, positive, and joyful environment in the classroom.

I'm married to wonderful man named Kevin. I have 3 adult children, Matthew, Joshua, and Sara. I also have 13 grandchildren. I have worked in Omak school as a cook for 15 years. I have also taught Sunday school for many years. I love children.

Angela Sawyer

God put it in my heart from a very young that I was meant to be a teacher. I've been a teacher in some form for the last 12 years. I have my AA degree in teaching. This will be my first year at Sage Hills School. I'm beyond excited to be joining the Kindergarten classroom as an assistant. It brings me great joy to share the love of Jesus with them and that he is always with us. I look forward to watching your kiddos learn and grow this year. I love being involved in the church, including working in the cafe. I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and as well as my cat Milo.

Lisa Congdon

Two years ago, I felt a "nudge" from the Spirit to volunteer at Kid's Church, and I fell in love! Getting to speak Jesus into the hearts and minds of children has become my greatest blessing. This year, as I step into the role of Preschool Teacher for Sage Hills School, I am filled with joyful anticipation for all that the Lord has in store. I am a wife, mom, and grandma to three sweet Rascals. I've lived in Wenatchee most of my life, working in the dental field.

Kerry Kappenman

I love working with children and seeing their natural curiosity and excitement for the world around them.  My years of teaching experience range from preschool through second grade.  My passion is to ground children in the knowledge that they are masterpieces uniquely created by God and to develop in them a lifelong love of learning. I moved to Wenatchee five years ago with my husband, Kregg.  We have four grown children and eight wonderful grandchildren. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, crafts, reading, and all of the fantastic outdoor activities in our beautiful valley.

Courtney Bowen

I was born and raised in Wenatchee. I enjoy helping others and making sure everyone feels loved. Although my passion for teaching is new, my passion for teaching kids about Jesus has been with me my whole life. I am currently studying at WVC to become a teacher. I love nature, skiing, being creative, and playing golf.
